Are Security Updates for your Phone really necessary?

 Android security patches don't matter as much as you think

Not necessarily true. The article includes statements like - 'you are not that important' and 'as long as you don't do anything stupid'. Well, plenty of people still use very simple passwords and easily fall for phishing attacks. So, IMHO, yes - security updates are very important. Specially because a lot of us are purchasing stuff online and do our banking there as well, or send/receive money.
